FLY TYING Videos: Which camera should I buy??
What a legend!
I loved this video❤ I've always loved fishing and this man is just too sweet
I caught my first fly fish on a black gnat last week😊
What a treasure! 17 yrs ago my 12 yr old son helped him at a clinic he put on. He showed how to cast using my son. He gave my son a catalog after the show to order a custom Richardson fly box , which my son had him sign later!
Haha, reminds me of my mentor!
Nothing better than mentors in fly fishing!
This man is a pa treasure !!
Agreed, he’s a legend 🙌
3000 fisherman per mile? Sounds like fisherman hell, not paradise.
I got to have one
I catch 17 inch rainbow trout in a little creek down the street near my house
Tim, what about the mop fly? Definitely a fly to use almost anytime…..lol
Where is spring creek? What state?
Its near State College, Pa
It's in California
Sounds alot like a old pennsylvania man talking to me
Dudes also wearing a Penn state flyfishing jacket so
There's no trout in pa
Good info too bad I’m thousands of miles from Alaska😂
I absolutely love this style of tying video and the experience you have fishing it. Thank you!!!
Thank a ton for this interview, I have watched his documentary several times. I have watched it so many times because he gives little golden nuggets out and I seem to catch a new one every time I rewatch it. I’m kind of a slow learning I guess.
Best video on RUclips for whip finishing hands down thank you so much for all you do very very helpful keep up the great work.
Thanks so much, Jason, it's appreciated! Shoot me an email and I'll add you to my fly fishing and tying newsletters: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
I'm just back into tying simple egg patterns and such for trout and salmon with my grandson and this would be a really good starter for us to build on.
For sure, Tim, it's a winner! Have fun with the pattern and let me know how it works for you and your grandson. My email is: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
Are you wearing the new boots on this trip ?
Not on that trip, but on my next one...YES!
WOW !!!! Unbelievable footage and content, thank you !!
Thanks so much, Iceland is something else! My next trip there is in July, can't wait! When are you coming??
💞Wow🧡🧡🧡🧡💜💜💜💜
Thanks!
I’ve only been tying for about 3 weeks now and I definitely wanna try this out. Looks awesome. Can’t wait to tie and fish this bugger!!
Give it a tie and let me know how it works for you...it's a winner! Shoot me an email and let me know: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
$1100 for boots and waders? Yikes
Agreed prices are getting pretty steep on fly fishing gear
As you probably know, these aren't the most expensive waders on the market, but they are definitely the best. Shoot me an email with any questions: tcammisa@gmail.com

Nice video with Joe, I had a similar experience last year with our TU club, made you feel right at home, personally signed his books for us, very impressed, story lessons, one after another, without skipping a beat. A true legend, hope you got to feed the fish in his pond. Thanks for sharing.
For sure, Jay, there's a reason I consider him fly fishing's ambassador! Thanks for sharing your story. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I understand why you want that loop out of there. I do the same thing for the simple reason that’s not my knot. Years ago I wanted to learn the blood knot and I had gotten a new rod and reel, at that time I knew nothing about the nail knot, I thought the preferred method was a blood knot so I went down to the local fly shop, I’ve known the owner for years but he wasn’t there but there was another guy there and he was about 75 and been a guide for years so I thought he will know how to attach all of my knew lines so I told him I just needed my backing attached to my fly line and it seemed he was kinda lost but got it done w a huge loop knot then I asked okay well here is where I was wanting the blood knot, he said o no we have a better way and grabbed these loop things that he put on the fly line and took a lighter which blew my mind and tightened the thing up like those Chinese finger lock things then it had a loop on it, I said what the hell is that? So I have to spend another $8 here for those things when I was just wanting to learn the blood knot. I got home and cut that loop system off and learned the nail knot with no tool and went on my way. I expected a lot more from an old guy that’s been guiding people down the rogue river for a 100 years. I can’t trust a machines knot or who ever tied it and as far as I’m concerned their knots might be stronger but I don’t care. Good Fishin to ya.
Thanks for the story, Randy, and I don't recommend those add-on loops. Like many others, I do recommend the nail knot and blood knot. If you're able to tie it without a tool, even better! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Would have been nice if you showed how you set it up...asking for a friend
I'm happy to share, email: tcammisa@gmail.com
Kinda
Ha ha., you saw it!!
@@TimCammisa ah barely just a little in the end
🙋♂️I saw the fish, did you??
I sent you the email i would also google þingvallavatn fishing and push on the first website
Hi, why do some Stonfo Elite/Transformer Vises have black jaws while others have silver ones? Is this because Stonfo has changed heat treatment or some jaw-manufacturing process? Thanks.
Great question, and I have both sets of the fine jaws (silver and black). Have you reached out to Stonfo to inquire? Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Lots of great Euro nymph rods, and here's a link to the BEST, enjoy! EURO RODS: tacticalflyfisher.com/collections/rods?sca_ref=3715493.Nnci2avL5O
Tim thank you for this video! Reminds me of my grandpa telling me stories from the good old days of fly fishing! I could sit there all day and listen to every fishing story Joe has! If it wasn’t for that man fly fishing wouldn’t be what it is today!
You're welcome, and that interview was special for me, too. I'm excited to begin editing the second video we made, and eventually his tying, too. Thanks for the kind words! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
My # 1 go to fly, a bead headed pheasant tail soft hackle. Never been skunked when using that fly and even more importantly, I have always caught more fish than my sons in law with it!
That is an awesome fly, Steve, and one I use in the US and Iceland with success! Thanks for sharing, and good luck when fishing with your son-in-laws! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Are they safe?
They are safe, and my children have been fishing with them for years. I also follow the tips I shared at the end of the video, which increase the safety, too. Thanks for checking! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Thank you, Tim! Teetering between a Stonfo and a Renzetti as a first fly tying vise. I love your very informative and high quality teaching videos.
You're welcome, and I tie on a Stonfo, so easy choice! Shoot me an email with specific questions: tcammisa@gmail.com
As a first vice, I'm thinking about getting the Stonfo Airone Travel Vise or the Renzetti Traveler 2000 Vise. I love the Stonfo workmanship. Any thoughts?
That's a tough decision, but it depends on what you're trying to get out of the vise. Will you be traveling with it? Send me an email and I'd love to help with your selection: tcammisa@gmail.com
How is the Lamson Liquid rod? The reel looks solid!
So far, so good, it's a solid setup that I recommend above all others at that price point! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
How about Soft Hackle wet flies?
Those are great choices, and some of my nymphs have either CDC or partridge hackle to add movement and give the impression of life. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I always just use a coniac leader for everything its so easy to cast
I don't know that one, can you provide a link? Tim www.troutandfeather.com
FUN video Tim - thank ya! My pesonal best brown trout took a Walt's Worm.... the pattern was only the hook, bead, thread, and hare's ear dubbing...done deal! I'm feeling inspired now to tie a couple rows of the X-Caddis! Appreciate ya!
Right back at you, Freddy, you're an inspiring fly tier, too! Hope you're well! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Tim, I caught a few rainbow trout in a pond with a Gasolina. I just thought I'll give it a try and it worked. Thanks for the content! Cheers, Mike
That's a favorite, and a fly featured in something special coming out this winter! ;-) Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Excellent content!! Thanks!!
You're welcome, thanks for taking a moment to comment! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
you talk too much‼️🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
So you're saying I should start a podcast, too? Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Yes, sir Those are some good ones Thanks for sharing, I'm going to try and email you when I get a chance
You got it, Dave, the emails have been coming in all day since the video was released! Here you go: tcammisa@gmail.com
Do you ever fish anything besides trout/salmon in the NE? Like carp, pike, or bass?
Yes, I was fishing for striped bass in the Atlantic on Friday. As summer approaches, I chase largemouth and panfish in my area, plus have some carp trips lined up for August. If it swims, I'm game! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
@@TimCammisa can you please diversify your videos and drop some knowledge about fishing something other than trout/salmon? There’s so much crowding on trout streams. The FF community needs influencers like you to show how kickass other game fish truly are. Thanks Tim, you rock!!!
